I want to travel from Marseille to Aix-en-Provence.

I just read the train from Marseille's Gare St. Charles does not go to Aix any more. I do not want to take a taxi. If I take a bus, does it depart from Gare Routiere or some place else? I will be coming to Marseille on a cruise ship and need details if possible please.

  1. The red line only asks you to be more precise in your demand (there's different stations in Marseille and in Aix). Just put Marseille Saint Charles and Aix en Provence Centre

From Marseille Saint Charles station you have a bus leaving every half hour or so that will bring you to Aix. Here are some of them.

MARSEILLE ST CHARLES     07h45    Autocar 59016

       AIX EN PROVENCE CENTRE 08h42

MARSEILLE ST CHARLES 08h00 Autocar 59020

       AIX EN PROVENCE CENTRE 08h57

MARSEILLE ST CHARLES 08h05 Autocar 59096

       AIX EN PROVENCE CENTRE 09h37

MARSEILLE ST CHARLES 08h30 Autocar 59022

       AIX EN PROVENCE CENTRE 09h27

MARSEILLE ST CHARLES 09h10 Autocar 59024

       AIX EN PROVENCE CENTRE 09h55

MARSEILLE ST CHARLES 10h00 Autocar 59026

       AIX EN PROVENCE CENTRE 11h03

And I agree with you, the site is hugely complicated and a pain in the backside.

  2. where did you read that? i just checked the sncf website and the train still goes from gare st charles to aix. it takes 45 minutes and will cost you 6.50 euros.
