Ok- I am planning a wedding for a Friend who lives in Raleigh I would appreciate ANY tips on creative places to host the reception. I have found the castle in Angier, and the run of the mill country clubs and hotel ballrooms. We need to facilitate 150 people next Febuary. Thank you so much!!

(please no tips on other wedding vendors)

THANK YOU!

  1. Receptions can be as unique as the people that you host it for. I have lived in Raleigh for many years...here are a couple ideas.

outdoorsy: try Pullen Park down by NC State, not too expensive, centrally located, beautiful and with a children's park in walking distance.

elaborate: NC Museum of Art, you can rent the space, and they cater. Very nice, sophisticated.

historic: Try historic Oakwood, there is an old Moravian Chapel and accompanying historic buildings. This is very inside the belt line. That means that Raleighites tend to like this area. This place is reasonable, classy, historic and in a nice part of town.

attractive and nice in the spring: Raleigh Rose Garden, trying to remember the exact name, it is off of Hillsborough Street and functions as a play house too. It has a very nice Rose Garden, enough room for a small crowd.

These are just a couple ideas, that might spark your interest. I can get other info if you need it.

Good luck. I will let you know others if I think of them.
