I'm going there on a family vacation in a week.

My parents & I are still trying to figure out a itinerary, & it's up to me for finding the places we are going to eat.

Anyone know some good restaurants?

We only want to eat at places we can only find in San Francisco, (near Union Sqaure if possible)

Please help!!

  1. I second the recommendation for  Scala’s Bistro – In the Sir Francis Drake Hotel on Powell at Sutter – Creative upscale Italian food served in a bustling, warm environment

Some other options in the Union Square area

Part Sports Bar, part piano lounge, part hoffbrau, all local color and all fun at Lefty O'Douls on Geary at Powell

    http://www.leftyodouls.biz

E&O Trading Post – 314 Sutter – Asian Fusion – Indian Thai and Chinese dishes

Le Colonial on Cosmo place [between sutter and post and between Jones and Taylor] serves Vietnamese food and great drinks in a lush interior with lots of plants and intimate nooks.

Farallon at 450 Post is a great seafood restaurant that is like eating in an undersea garden.

Cortez – in the Adagio hotel 550 Geary – creative California small plates $$$

Millennium – 580 Geary at jones - vegan food that will amaze even confirmed carnivores.

And a true only in SF experience in the Financial District

Tadich Grill 240 California-The Original Cold Day Restaurant: An old boy’s kind of place that has been around since 1849. Great seafood, chops and sourdough. Stiff drinks, no reservations, but counter seats are first come first served.

  2. In San Francisco there are many good places. You could try Blvd. or how about Aqua. These are good places if a little expensive. Enjoy yourself! Hope this helps, chef paul

  3. Scala's Bistro and  Kuletos are in that area on Powell. Try walking to North Beach and dine at Enrico's on Broadway. Go to Tammaso's for pizza on Kearny just before Broadway. R&G Lounge for Chinese on Kearny at Clay.

So many places. So little time...

  4. There are great restaurants in San Francisco. It depends on what kind of food you like to eat as to where you should go. I know of wonderful vegeatarian places.

Go to citysearch and look up restaurants in San Francisco. They give lots of details and reviews.

  5. It's an experience eating at the RAINFOREST CAFE in SF...

I would say that the food is fine and it's fun if kids are going along too.

It's not really a cafe; it's a restaurant that is literally set in a rainforest scenery...

  6. there are two on ellis

the new delhi   and johns grill  both local and wonderful
