  1. We used to have hot sunny weather in England when I was growing up.

I think they put an end to it to try and deter so many people from coming into the country.

I don't think it worked though...

(just kidding of course - but the weather has definitely got worse.  Right now in South Florida it's juist started the daily thunderstorm)

  2. The definition is correct.  But it is not complete.

Add:  "may last for up to three days, starting as late as August or as early as April.  Timing varies from year to year"

  3. The summer of 2006 was lovely. I wish every British Summer would be like that one. I remember people weren't allowed to use water hoses and had to conserve water due to the drought. How often do you hear of a drought in the U.K?

Maybe the rest of the summer will be nice. I think I'm a SAD sufferer and I'm really really desperate for some sunshine.

  4. Too right!

It's been chucking it down all day, just had to drive through a river to get down my road.

Someone else said that when they were youger the summer was always nice - same here, what the heck happened lol

Please lets just have a couple of nice days before the end of August. Fingers crossed! =]

  5. I live in Devon and the weather is sunny the majority of the time =] we are the lucky ones

  6. lol

    should be changed to

Summer: The season between Spring and Autumn, consisting of lots of rain and cloudy weather - just like any other season here.

aww you soooo lucky i'd love to live in florida or california!

its always so happy =] & nice weathery apart from hurricanes

    VVVVVVVVVVVVVV

  7. Well, in case UK residents have forgotten, 2006 was a hot dry summer and we were in drought!  the reservoirs were drying up and we had a garden hose ban in our area and some areas were having real problems.  I remember how hot it was at night tryng to sleep and the DIY stores were full of portable air conditioning units.  So we do get hot summers, just 2007 was the awful floods and this year has been miserable.
