I wonder how the h**l that our ISP's can expect our business when, for me,what they are saying is 'your internet activity is being monitored and we are watching you.'Who in their right mind would sign up to an ISP who are actively monitoring us,even if they don't do anything illegal? It just seems to me very 1984 (George Orwell).I also heard somewhere that Branson ( Virgin Media ),wants to start charging for premium websites? Just what that means I'm not sure, but I think the days of the internet being 'free' are numbered.

What do you think?

  1. shame they cant clamp down on child pornogrophy in the same way

my son downloads and if i likes new music he is more likely to buy their album , the richer these people get the more they want

  2. It won't happen, if they do it to one person then they can say they are being persecuted if no one else gets prosecuted besides them and if they target everyone then they loose too much money.

  3. ISP''s always did monitor the usage, take for example the email I got from mine.

We have noticed an excessive amount of usage, this could be caused by spyware, viruses and using Skype. I just looked up their new rules of service and it says you should not use skype are any of these peer to peer like services on their system. What the h**l am i paying the huge amount of money for. to read my emails and send some around.

This kind of proves one thing to me Clearwire already monitor  people using its services and have done for a long time. They know I downloaded movies by the way, they most likely know I am on yahoo answers now and they most likely have seen the photos I sent my cousin in Canada a few weeks ago.

  4. You are already being watched. Everytime you go on Yahoo they record your IP address. Everytime you download any music from anywhere., legal or illegal it is being recorded against your IP address.

The Internet is free and always will be, but illegality anywhere can get costly.

  5. I'm really not sure the govt. will get away with it. It would create an outcry of anger. And the people who really wanted to do it would find a way, and distribute instructions for all to share.

i mean does madonna really need an extra £4 from me? I dont think so! It's not like smaller bands who need money are getting screwed over

  6. i think is all c**p it's not on at all

  7. Sorry to break it to you but you are already being watched, majority of the main internet sites use cookies to track your every move. Sad though, considering it is a breach of privacy, in my opinion anyway. The main question however, is that are they going to terminate your internet access because you download music illegally? Absolutely not, there's too much money at stake and I don't think it's a gamble they'll be willing to take.  Like someone once said to me, "the only reason drug dealers are hunted down like dogs is because they don't pay taxes."
