Question:

People keep saying that Bristol Palin's pregnancy isn't our business...isn't it, just a little?

I only say this for two reasons:

1. Sara Palin is pro- abstinence only education, and her daughter is living proof that it does NOT WORK.

2. People are saying that it isn't our business, but let's be real. If McCain got in office, and some 17-year-old girl was pregnant and wanted an abortion, she wouldn't be able to. Why? Because Sara Palin would've made it her business to make it illegal. Why is it okay for her to be all up in our business and try to ban abortion (INCLUDING cases of rape and incest!), but we're supposed to be all "hands off" when it comes to her daughter? Is that fair?

  1. This issue is about as relevant to our day to day lives as whether or not Angelina Jolie is having a boy or girl baby....who cares, none of it matters. It just gives people something to obsess about since their lives are so lame.

  2. I agree, but your major fallacy is in asking Republicans to make sense.

  3. No it isn't.

    Mccain for President

    Hillary Clinton for President 2012!!

    Obama is WAY to INEXPERIENCED

  4. Obama has stated time and again that we should be working towards reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies by providing our young people with comprehensive s*x education and effective methods of birth control.  To me, this is a realistic stance on the issue.  Maybe if Mrs. Palin hadn't been so busy being governor, she would have noticed that her daughter was getting a little too serious with Levi and at least would have taken measures to protect her (like putting her on birth control pills).

And for those of you who don't think that she and McCain can't reverse Roe v. Wade, all they have to do is appoint one or two more conservative Justices to the Supreme Court.  And believe me, there will be some vacancies in the next couple of years.

  5. Somewhat.  And here's why.

Sarah's daughter being pregnant does shine the spotlight on a serious issue in this country.

    Teen Pregnancy.

McCain has fought against teen pregnancy programs his entire time in the Senate.

And Sarah herself is running on a platform of abstinence rather than s*x education. And her daughter being pregnant shows that simply pushing an agenda of abstinence does not work.

So how can she expect to sell that concept to a nation when clearly it hasn't worked in her own household?

  6. To answer your topic question no, it is not our business.

  7. it isn't our business.roe vs. wade will never be overturned. so you don't have to worry about your rights being messed with. as for bristol, what 17 year old that you know listens to everything their parents say? lots of 17 year olds get pregnant everyday, she is not the first and she won't be the last. just ask obama...his mom was 17 when she got pregnant with him.

  8. No. It's a private family matter and both Presidential candidates have said so.

  9. why would Bristol's life bother you? its not any-ones business but her and the families. i have seen good families with an unexpected pregnancy and other problems   there is no guarantee your  kids will turn  out  perfect  there is  no  such  thing. there are more important issues  than  a  17 yr old  having  a baby.  like  a  racist  man  running  for  president  and  a  bitter  wife  who  hates  america  and  a  man  that  has  racist  terrorist  friends  that  will cut  our  military  billions  of  dollars  and  destroy  the  most  powerful  country  in  the  world  .  now  that  is  a  topic  to  talk  about  not  a  girl  pregnant

  10. You can discuss abortion and s*x education without bringing attention to an innocent girl who doesn't deserve this. If you need an example, go after Jamie Lynn Spears.

  11. I agree with you

  12. I agree with BOOMER.  But, everybody's bashing him and protecting a woman that's supposed to be so "tough."  She's a big girl.  She can handle herself.  All these politicians just saying what people want to hear to get elected.  All except Ron Paul...  but, he knows you can't tell the truth and actually win.  I like McCain and Obama's accomplishments, just not for the Presidency.  McCain ready to drop bombs everywhere with no diplomacy and Obama wants to raise taxes so the litttle money my neice makes on her job will disapper when her employer is taxed out of business.

    Ron Paul for President!

  13. Yes, it is relevant because her mother could possibly be making decisions that effect us or our families, so what she believes and how she has handled her own family is very relevant.

  14. NOBODY wants to target the young pregnant girl. She is just a kid.

    But the problems are:

    1) is that her mother's political image is predicated in part on "strong christian family values".  Given the reality of how her family actually lives, the image doesn't match  reality.

    2) Governor Palin just gave birth to an infant with special needs. Plus - her eldest daughter is an unwed teenage mom and SHE DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE PUT THROUGH A PUBLIC ORDEAL LIKE THIS.   The fact that Governor Palin accepted McCains VP offer suggests strongly that she is in love with her celebrity and is putting her own vanity before her family responsibilities.

    3) Sarah Palin is political neophyte and her career is off to a good start. But timing is everything and she have declined this offer and live to fight another day.
