Well, yeah I know that, but don't you feel [or didn't you...when you were in high school] that it's sorta like a catwalk...people staring at you and stuff? Especially when the hallway doesn't have a lot of people in it.....I know...most of you have no idea what I mean lol.

  1. Yeah, it seems to have become more like a fashion show unfortunately

  2. Things have changed way too much for me to make an objective observation on this as I have not been in high school in ten years.  We had to ask our friends if they thought our outfit was cool.  But  my friends really didn't ask each other, we just showed up wearing what we felt like.  I think what most people have a problem with is the apparent mass conformity of your generation.  You don't make a decision on your own, or so it seems.  I remember my little brother though getting online asking all his friends if his new ambercrombie shirt would be good for school.  Every generation has its ways of fitting in, but I think that would be more for a category about that then in fashion.

  3. Yeah it is a lot like a fashion show and it did mean a lot to me 4 years ago when I was in high school but when I got to college it really didn't matter. I can honestly say I only talk to 2 people I graduated with so it's not like I kept in touch with anyone who did talk or would have talked about my clothes. When you go back for your 10 year reunion I would hope that some people would have grown up by then instead of mentioning something horrible you might have worn one day out of the 4 years you were there.  And as far as learning about what your style is it shouldn't matter because whats in today is going to be out in 4 months because the seasons change.  As far as high school goes for me the only time I truely cared about what other people thought about what I was wearing was at Prom.

  4. you get to wear free dress????

well the best fashin ( u r a girl rite)

is a mini dress with a high belt and tights with them high shoes but are like runners. Everything must match!!!

  5. hmm. interesting.

  6. I went to private school and wore a uniform every day.

I now use my own brain to decide what to wear instead of following every fashion fad.

  7. it's a sad truth, but a lot of times if we like how appear to others on the outside, we can accept ourselves, therefore we feel others will accept us also.

  8. Well im about to be in high school but even in my middle school I feel like this at times (im in 8th grade]. we aren't allowed to wear certain things because it is caused as a distraction. that's lame but I love fashion. don't you? :P
