how u doing?? ok so this monday is the first day of high school and I'm taking advanced english. I'm a freshman, so my problem is that i was given assignments to do during the summer, AND I DIDN'T DO ALL OF THEM!!!..I just finished one!! i know, it was wrong of me to be a lazy bum. and i feel terrible that i let down all the people that believe in me!!!!

so my question is, do you think that the teacher will take me out of her advance class because i didn't finish the assignments???

seriously i feel horrible because in middle school i was the valedictorian and i won 2 prices for excellence in school, its just that i like 2 have fun and i don't like to b stuck in the house studying, im far away from being a nerd. i guess im jus smart because i pay attention in class, thats it.

SO PLEASE ANYONE THAT WENT TO A HONOR CLASS HELP ME!!!

  1. kinda screwed up there didnt you. you wanna try to do your best at the beginning of the year so that if you dont do as good later on the teacher will still think your smart and hardworking, but you cant get kicked out just for not doing an assignment. You only get kicked out if your grade is lower than a B- so if that assignment was worth a lot you are screwed, if not do everything else and you should be fine

  2. I don't think you'll get kicked out or anything, but you may get on your teacher's bad side. Lots of kids have this same problem, especially their first year. It's because freshmen haven't been properly introduced to time management...

Sometimes, teachers don't collect the summer assignments on the first day, so you could still have a chance to get it done.

Try to get as much of it finished as possible by Monday. You really should try to make a good first impression, so do your best.

    Good luck!

    EDIT 4:

Think of this as a learning experience. Now you know what to do next time. Your parents will understand. Just work harder this semester, to bring your grade up. Really, don't worry so much, you'll be fine.

Try writing less and eliminating parts of the summaries that don't matter. Write as small as you possibly can. As for the book, did you see if there is a summary on sparknotes? Usually the tests that are on summer homework aren't extremely detailed, because kids aren't really paying attention to them. Look at the summaries of the book online, and then finish reading it later.

    Good luck.

  3. your teacher most likely will not kick you out if... ask he/she if you can do extra work to get at least a few points. I did this once or twice and my parents told me this advice. i took it and now i have a 3.87 average for the year
