What Hotel did you stay at?

What other things did you do in S. Dakota?

And do you know anything about the helicopter ride around Mt. Rushmore? (I've heard a person mention it and was wondering if anybody knew anything about it.)

THANKS!

  2. The Alex Johnson is a really nice place, in Rapid City.  Even Rachel Ray talked about it on one of her cooking shows...

    Good luck, hope that helps!

  3. When I was in that area, I stayed in Deadwood at the Celebrity Hotel. I'd be glad to stay there again any time. It was in a historic building within easy walking distance of everything. While I was in South Dakota, I visited the Custer and Wind Cave Parks, went to the Badlands. Other than Mount Rushmore, I thought the best thing was driving through Bear Country USA and seeing all the bears and other animals. The Black Hills Central Railroad was pretty good too.  The Journey Museum was interesting.

I didn't take the helicopter tour, so I can't tell you anything about that. When I lived in Panama City Beach, FL, I took a helicopter tour along the beach on the Gulf Coast and got some good aerial pictures of the shoreline and my house at the beach - it might be interesting.
