I already asked this question, but I think it was in the wrong section

My sister got a letter from the People to People Student Ambassadors program. I know it is legit and not a scam, but I am cautious about money. I want my sister to do this (if she can do it, it means I can), but they say that the program cost $4,000 - $6,000, not including the flight. I have two questions: is there any easy way to earn lots of money, and is there any information I might need to know for my sister? Oh, and how would this benefit her? It seems more like it is just for a child to have fun, rather than to learn.

  1. People to People is an excellent program. I went to Australia in 2005 with the program and had the time of my life. It's true that it is very expensive, but the money can be raised. Also, the price does include flights, just so that you know that. It includes all flights, hotels, tours, food; everything except for shopping. Basically in order to raise the money you can first of all ask for donations from family, friends, and even local busniesses. Also, you can hold car washes, bake sales, you can babysit. It takes alot of hard work but can be done. The trip that I went on was the best thing that ever happened to me. I came back home with such an appreciation for other cultures and the diversity of the rest of the world I couldn't even believe it. I came back much more outgoing than I used to be, and I made the most amazing friends. I met my best friend on that trip. People to People is worth every cent, and if you can find the money do it!

  2. I went on a p2p 20 day trip to europe this summer and I LOVED it!   about the learning experience thing, it's true, you can go on the trip and learn almost nothing, but that's mainly only if you're not paying attention, if you're just there for the shopping. the amount you learn depends on the amount you WANT to learn. it is really expensive, but you can do fundraising, they will help give you ideas.  I made AMAZING friends on the trip and really do feel more cultured now.  it is true though, that other kids came back unchanged, but again, they were the ones who were just there for the shopping.  what you get out of the experience all depends on what you put in.  I was open-minded, respectful, and eager to learn, and it turned out being one of, if not THE best experience of my life.
