With the Student Ambassador program, I found the package for England that I'd like to do. You go to Belgium, Ireland, England, France, and Wales. But i was wandering of you even get to pick where you go. I'v read somethings on the internet and it makes it sound like the people that run this program choose where you go for you.

  1. It's bloody expensive though... I don't think it's worth it.

Have you heard of Intrax Study Abroad?

They let you pick certain places you'd like to go, but unlike People to People, you do not get to go to multiple places, I do not think.

  2. My grandmother does it.

And no you do not get to pick.

Tehy pick for you and you have the choice of going or not.

  3. i was in the program too. but i didn't go anywhere because the price was too much. while you pay almost 3000 dollars, a plane ticket isn't included. but you can choose where you go. they pick different places and you choose out of them. *remember to always read the private policy and license and agreement forms*

  4. People to People have mailed ALOT of people information lately.... weird. But no I would not recommend going with them, their a sketchy orgranization. Might I suggest AFS, YFU or Rotary? Here are their websites:

    http://www.usa.afs.org/usa_en/home

    http://www.yfu-usa.org/

And Rotary doesn't have a specific website, you have to search it by district. For instance if you lived in Los Angeles you would search "Los Angeles California Rotary". Then email the exchange coordinator and if their email isn't listed email someone else and ask to be connected to the exchange coordinator.

Here is a forum that's really helpful: http://www.cultures-shocked.org/forum/?
