Okay, I had this weird thing happen to me a couple of years ago and I remember it really clearly, I even wrote about it right after it happened. One day I was walking on campus and a group of people started to cross the street, and everyone was frozen for some odd seconds, it was the weirdest thing. Like, I remember the woman leading the group, she was wearing a fuschia dress and it was frozen still. This was like a photograph. I could still hear cars on a street not too far away, and the campus was dead beacuse it was summertime and there were other groups around but at that time, within my sight all i could see was this group crossing. Sooo...can anyone explain wtf could have happened? lol. Some sort of lapse in my brain? :P

  1. The mind does some crazy stuff when it comes to falling asleep and waking up.

Ive had sleeping disorders throughout my life, so some of the more bizarre things that can happen are pretty norm to me.

I once woke up from a nap and was walking around for about 3 minutes completely conscience, but dreaming. I could see the world around me, but the dream imagery and illogical dream thought was still going on.

The thing about this kind of waking and falling asleep stuff is that when something crazy happens it is vivid and realistic, not like a dream at all. Also, people tend to remember them very clearly.

It all has to do with the chemical signals in the brain, which can get confused when you are under stress, or your sleep patterns are irregular.

My guess is that particular day some chemical signal didnt trigger right when you were waking up and you were still in a dream state, even though you were otherwise fully awake and alert.

  2. The brain is like a movie projector constantly runnning, even when we sleep and don't remember our dreams we are "seeing" things. If something disrupts our ability to view the continuous flow of conscious or subconscious stimulation it registers as odd to our mind.

A similar thing happened to me as a child, but I was on the opposite end of the "frozen in time" aspect. I jumped off a wall which was around 5 feet tall and the moment I was completely airborn, the world stopped around me but I felt totally conscious. This happened for a fraction of a second but I was totally aware of all my surroundings like if I had an out of body experience. Don't worry I landed safely on the ground.

  3. I think you may have frozen a bit yourself.  It's either the way your brain processed the image(s) recorded by your eyes or else you are remembering it incorrectly.

  4. You had a stroke. Have a good night.

  5. MAYBE you (all) really were "frozen" to protect you from an accident. I was hoping you'd say..then there was an accident and we would have been hurt or killed. But since you didn't say that...IDK. Otherwise...the brain is so unusual and complicated...this could have just happened in your brain. Doesn't mean anything is wrong with you. Too bad you didn't look at your watch before and after. You might have been "abducted" and didn't know it. (just an idea).lol You're guess is as good as mine about what happened.

  6. you know whats strange, that i once read the same experience by another person... from what i can remember they wrote the same thing, it happened to them, im pretty sure they were in a car or on the side of the road..and i remember they said that all the cars just froze for a couple of seconds.. and they were asking the same question as you, as to what could of caused it.....everything was just paused for a couple of seconds, then it just went back to normal......

    who knows really?

  7. Well I haven't seen a ghost before and I don't believe in ghosts. It could have been a ghost as they can appear for a little bit then just disappear in a second. It could also be your eyes playing a trick on you and you thinking someone was leading the group of people when there wasn't anyone leading the group it was just people walking in a group on the campus. If you were closer you could have seen if it was a ghost as it might have been someone who died and was still on campus as a ghost but still you wouldn't know till you saw it up close but if you are far away then it would be hard to tell if it was a ghost or not. That is just my thoughts on the whole situation. I hope it helps you with this ghost thing.

  8. it could have been a vision of some sort.

  9. Maybe there was a glitch in you mind.  I'm not joking, just a thought.  Maybe they were extremely well choreographed people in very starched clothing.  I'm more willing to bet, though, that you probably had some kind of brief vision impairment.

  10. It actually sounds like some sort of weird hallucination-----maybe you were just tired, or maybe there was some sort of neurological misfire.    It's possible you might've had a small seizure  in the the temporal lobes or something----I'd mention this to your doctor.

  11. I don't know the medical term for it but I call it a brain f**t! Some times your brain just skips a beat.  Kind of like when you can't remember your  best friends name for a few seconds, for some reason. Some thing like deja vu with out the loop back.

  12. Sounds like you partied a little too much at those campus parties. Are you sure it wasn't just a dream?

  13. thats reaaaaaaaaaally weird.

  14. That is super awesome and weird. I love it, sorry I have no idea what it is though. but I thought it was cool!
