Not only do they show no respect for the Williams sisters but they show no respect for their own british women in Tennis from the interview I listened to this morning. What's up with that?

  1. you're talking bollox, they get all the respect they deserve from British people, they are a credit to tennis.

  2. A little more info like a link would help?  I've got no probs with them so please explain?

I posted a Q about Laura Robson and think it's great she's made the final!

    Hope she wins!

  3. You are very mistaken.

The British crowd have a lot of respect for the Williams sisters, which is a large reason why they love coming to Wimbledon every year.  Their opponents get cheered louder during matches because the British crowd will always get behind the underdog.  There is no negativity at all towards the Williams sisters at all in that.

What British women are there to get behind?  They get plenty of support from the British crowd in the first couple of rounds, and the young girl in the juniours continues to get good support.

  4. Have you seen British tennis players who are female? Are you suggesting we should respect lazy, out-of-shape, ignorant people who are more than adequately supported by the LTA? They're making a living out of being losers!

As for the Williams sisters, the majority of the Centre Court crowd are middle class, right-wing twits with a racist underbelly. Does that answer your question?

  5. Well I am not British (I'm Indian), but I must say that I have met some of the kindest people there. At the same time I've also met some who feel they are higher and mightier.

In Venus' website she has been writing on her blog about wonderful things that she has been doing there in Wimbledon. Nowhere has she mentioned that she is having a bad time.

Unless we hear from the sisters themselves, that they were humiliated, let's assume that this is just the work of some hyperexcited journalists.

  6. Please tell me that your american!!!  That speaks for its self!!  As a ntion the british beat the gung who attitude of the average American hands down!!

  7. the interview this morning on ESPN with the british woman? LOL wow ur not really making a good arguement without a specific example. And the match on ESPN was a replay from Thursday so it's possible that many on here were not watching because many here like seeing live matches and just finshed watching Federer-Safin live.
