People who are familiar with breast cancer ?

I started feeling discomfort on my left breast and I had it checked out by a gynecologist. They said it's probably nothing just to keep an eye on it. The thing is its not a lump it's sort of like a hard breast plate or something to the left side. After they told me to keep an eye on it I started getting worried. But I am having another appointment soon and I will make them do bunch of tests. My question is if anyone had the same problem starting just with a hard breast plate or calcium deposit or just from wearing a wired bra. What were the results? I am really freaking out. thx

  1. Let me amplify the last post.  You are describing what could be nested or sheet tumors.  This is classic IBC presentation.  Run don't walk to the nearest breast specialist!  Look at the rest of the symptoms on IBC and decide for yourself.  This particular monster gets misdiagnosed very often.  Most practitioners have never seen a case.

  2. Not all breast cancer is characterized by lumps. That's the most common - but not the only. Research the symptoms of Inflammatory Breast Cancer and see if anything stated seems to apply.

You should definitely ask for further investigation by your doctor if you are uncomfortable or uncertain. You are your most valuable advocate. Don't take no for an answer.

  3. I'm sorry I can't answer your actual question about the breast plate or calcium deposit. But I just wanted to say if you're not happy with your doctors treatment/advice go and get a second, third, fourth..... opinion until you are satisfied!!! My mother is a survivor of breast cancer and if it wasn't for her sheer determination to get an answer she wouldn't be with us today (her first doctor said the lump was 'nothing too sinister').  I hope it is good news and try not to think about it in the meantime - easy for me to say I know. Also they always tell you to keep an eye on things, as you're the best observer of your body - it doesn't necessarily mean it is something bad. Good Luck.
