  1. It's simply because when you are aging the metabolism is slowing down causing cell degeneration. Your body organs can less do anything with restored fats.

In the absence of concomitant diseases it generally reflects arterial aging.  As we get older the arteries in the body become more rigid and noncompliant.  This causes an increase in peripheral vascular resistance and therefore an increase in pressure as well.  If a pipe is soft and flexible it can expand to accomodate fluid loads and minimize pressure.  The converse is true if a pipe is rigid and can't expand to modulate pressures.

  3. i think it would be all those years of hamburgers and fries catchin up, or cholesterol.
