Dont you think your taking a bit of a narrow view of the world? i always learned NEVER discount anything you hear, no matter how crazy it sounds, we are limiting ourselves that way.

Your entitled to your opinion, i'm just reasoning why.

  1. Two qualities make a great mind;  1) openess to consider new thoughts and 2) conscientiousness to filter those that lack sufficient evidence.

For example, would you consider yourself narrow-minded by not believing me when I tell you that I look exactly like Antonio Banderas and that I am dictating this answer to a pink unicorn?

C'mon now.  Don't take a narrow view of the world.

Keep an open mind.  Just make sure you keep the BS filter attached.

  2. Since there's never been any proof of it, no, I don't think I'm taking a limited view at all.  Do you believe in Santa Claus?  How about the Easter Bunny?  Why not?  There's plenty of reports of sightings - just ask kids!  You can't just discount it!  Oh wait, yes we can.

If there's never been any proof ever, it's not an opinion anymore, any more than 'the moon is red right now' is an 'opinion'.

  3. No, nothing of the sort. We and the existence we inhabit are all governed by the rules of physics and that does not include the supernatural. that belongs to charlatans. Rev up you broom, just in case there's a petrol srike.

  4. well I believe in the following

    1)entities

    2)ghosts

    3)spirits

    4)The Super natural

    5)Halloween

well my mom doesn't believe in ghosts.

  5. I don't think anyone can REALLY  believe in it or about it until they have  their own personal experiences. It usually takes more than one to  convince them...unless it's a really powerful one. It's                                                             really not their fault that they aren't able to believe about them.

Edit.. But, it always amazes me that  they still don't believe...after  reading so many  paranormal experiences on here and other places.

  6. fear of the unknown, recognition of something that has always been, and maybe its not "super" at all just natural?narrow minds, insecurities, and lack of faith ,creates lack of knowledge.....would you stop here if you where an alien?do you think they realize how truly adolescent we are?of course the skeptics run from the darkness instead of realizing the darkness never hurt anyone.....it was whats in it?and that goes for the light.they'll never get all of us believers.......Blessed be...................!

  7. That's not a matter of narrow point view or not, that'a a scientific point of view. And that's not a matter of belief either. I am ready to admit telepathy, spirits, or whatever exist, unless you give me serious proofs it does. Testimonies like "I've felt spirits trying to talk to me last night" or "I can feel other people thoughts" have little value.

  8. gOD WAS PUT AS SUPERNATURAL SAYING HE created Earth and so was Jesus

if they were why can't other people be

I belive everyone has a different sixth sense wether ikt be seeing dead people

Physic everyone one has one if you do not know of yours yet test things out

  9. i agree totaly... theres so many strange things in this world we cant explain...

  10. I think maggs right , what we want is research and evidence on it.....Then we would not hasitate in believing it !

  11. It is amazing how fast some people change after they see their first ghost.  What I fine amazing is that some people still don't believe in them after they see a ghost.  I like to call it the scrooge syndrome,  it must be a bit of undigested food, a bad piece of cheese.  Anything to not believe what they are seeing.

  12. My husband claims to be atheist. I have heard him pray, and seen his prayers answered, but still he says there is no God or afterlife. He chaulked his answered prayer to "modern science" even though the docs said what they did was to "possibly extend life and relieve pain but they couldn't cure me". I should have died. I am now cancer free. He prayed for our daughters life. She lived although the docs gave her up, and stopped fighting, and only gave palative care. This man has asked me to read Tarot for him and followed my advice after a reading, but denies that tarot is real.

I think that for many people, the disbelief of metaphysics, and the paranormal is so ingrained in them, the fear of being thought of as weird, odd, or crazy; that their friends and family could be wrong; makes them dismiss anything that proves otherwise, that for anyone with an open mind would at least give them cause to question their beliefs.

I think you are right, it is a narrow life view.

I think it is fear that makes them dismiss everything, even if they have direct, personal proof.

It like- if they are wrong about this- then what else are they wrong about...Its too earthshaking.

    And that's scary!

  13. something strange happened to me I thought I was imagining it than before saying anything

somebody else told me they saw the same thing

I think those people need to see something unexplainable

to believe it people that believe in the supernatural usually have a history of future dreams being able to move thing's

or contact with the unseen world and most of us just keep to ourselves

  14. This is my answer.I'd be happy to believe in the supernatural. There's just no evidence it's real. You shouldn't disbelieve everything you hear.Neither should you believe everything. You should check it out then make up your mind.Otherwise you're really limiting yourself.

  15. I'm perfectly willing to believe in the supernatural all I need is some evidence.

  16. they're missing out on so much for those who don't believe in the supernatural.

  17. i want to believe

  18. To answer your question, if you had never seen proof of a tiger or a lion - but then finally saw one on television or in a zoo that would be your proof. Every day we hear of new discoveries - animal and plant life, lost cities - things we didn't know to exist but were proven with solid evidence. It isn't a matter of a narrow view - I think most skeptics just need the solid evidence ( it has to be stable, reproduceable and leave evidence of it's existence) in order for personal confirmation.

  19. It is certainly true that if one is too eager to dismiss something as nonsense, he or she may well miss something important and interesting.  Keeping an open mind is very important.

But that's a very different thing from "believing in the supernatural."  If ghosts really existed there would be more solid evidence of it by now that even skeptics would be hard pressed to dismiss.

I believe there are new things yet to be discovered about how the world works, but that doesn't mean that flimsy claims of supernatural events are true.  Sometimes it is entertaining to dig up the real explanation of a supposed supernatural event, but after doing it a few times I imagine one would lose interest.

  20. No, it's not a narrow view of the world to not believe. Whether we believe in the paranormal or not, we come to those conclusions not because we chose to be open-minded or closed-minded but because our life experiences have led us in that direction, and the way we reason and think has dictated that it is the logical conclusion to hold. I know it's the common vernacular to say we "choose to believe", but I would argue that we never choose to believe. Our beliefs are dictated to us by our own individual thinking processes that we really don't have much power to change. We are who we are.

I'm getting a little off track. The above being said, lack of belief isn't narrow-minded. If one is open to reviewing new evidence that may contradict presently held beliefs, yet that evidence has not been good enough yet to change those beliefs, that's not a narrow view at all. That's been open and being a reasoning person. People need reasons to believe, and if those reasons aren't provided, you can't expect them to start believing anyway.
