  1. I have visited London, and it's what I thought.  Nice architecture, expensive, and gllomy!

On the train ride there a local told me that London was more diverse then NYC...he was 100% wrong!!

London is very beautiful, but definately not more diverse then NYC.  I was surprised to see how many people Indians/Pakistans/ people from Iraq lived there.  I was aware of that but didn't expect so many.  I have a problem with how the British grant political assylum to anyone and allow them to return to their countries for hooliday!!

  2. Crime, bombs, racial problems, unemployment, the same as up here in Scotland. I had a weekend visit to London and wasn't impressed.

  3. the beatels even though they arent from there

  4. Those guys with the funny black hats who just stand around.

  5. London's Burning / London Calling-The Clash, Dirty Old Town-The Pogues, The streets of London , London Bridge is falling down, Chirpey Cockney fruit sellers........Oh and 'God save the Queen' by the s*x Pistols!!!!!!!!! In other words NOT A LOT!!!

  6. Amazing, friendly, warm, and understanding people.

  7. well, the general impression is sophistication, tea, and possibaly bad teeth or snootines.

probably better than your view on america eh?

cool, though, i've always wanted to visit =]

  8. Great city.  Lots to do and see.  Great mass transit.  They speak English.  it's just expensive.

  9. to expensive for me to ever visit. lol.

but it really seems like it wouldbe very pretty, not full of sun, kind of dreary as far as fog and sun goes. high fasion. great art.   but a little overpriced.   and im sure everyone would be able to tell i was an american just by my being chubby and tall.

  10. London is one of my favorite cities in the world!!!

I think of tubes, tea, beer, pubs, theater, city, lights, the queen, parks, loud traffic, The Texas Embassy, busy people, music, plates, Shakespeare, doc martens, green grass, trees, crowded streets, double deckers, big ben, parliament,  great TV shows, and MIND THE GAP!

It is a glorious city that everyone should visit at least once!

  11. If you are tired of London you are tired of life.

  12. Stressfull, very expensive and hectic. I do however absolutely adore the place. I'm from Newcastle so I'm used to living in a big city but London is unlike any other place I've been before.

  13. I've never been to London. When I think of it I  honestly think of bad teeth, bad food, great tea, and old buildings. Oh, and of course the Queen. That's just people have told me. My mom went there and said the food was horrible. No offense to anyone.

  14. I think of the same thing I think of for any big city.  Tourists versus locals.  The tourists are fond of the locals (unless they are the locals contibuting to the tourist industry) because the locals don't like the tourists.  And the locals don't like the tourists because they are annoyed with these people that have come all this way to oggle over the stuff that local take for granted.  The city is probably like most with dirty streets, major crowding, etc.  There's likely a good bit of crime in the wrong places.  And there's likely a lot of amazing things that we strangers would love to see...and if we ever do, it will probably be a once in a lifetime sort of event because we will return to our homes, which we also take for granted, but love none the less.

  15. i think london is awesome! i've always wanted to visit. i imagine very sophisticated and artsy.

    :)

  16. illegal immigrants and knife crime

  17. I think of those video clips you get on channel U.  I think of the family I got living there.. I LOVE LONDON..  I go there with my husband and we love Nando's...Aw and I love the things to see and do in the centre of London!!

  18. people who think americans are dumb. i heard from a london guy himslef that they didn't care of their business like we do, they won't hesitate to tell you to F-off or kiss you butt to make a buck. so there is rude that comes to mind...especially the men.  really open about s*x. i think thats about it...was i even close. someday i plan to go there.

  19. I've visited London before for a week during the spring & it was pretty nice; also, there was no rain at all when I went so that was convenient.

It's enriched with history & the people there are absolutely fashionable, though not as trendy as Paris. Riding the Tube was the best, though.

However, before that, I've always thought of the royal family and a bunch of really high class elite people living in London.

  20. When I hear the name, I normally think "I'm glad that I am somewhere else".

Noisy, dirty, expensive and full of rude people.  Closes down at night, which I find weird. There are some good museums, but apart from that, you can keep it.

I went for a couple of jobs in the city when I graduated.  I can still remember the huge queue of men in expensive suits outside McDonald's at lunchtime.   Very sad, in my opinion.

  21. It makes me think music.

I talked with this really nice couple from England, actually Adam was in a band, and they were saying that it has such an amazing music scene. I mentioned I was interested and they kept saying I would love it, overcast, rainy, and great music.

Hopefully I can go next summer with school!

  22. I think of grey skies and rain.  I think of people driving on the other side of the roads.  I think of people eating tarts and ucky jellies for breakfast.

  23. busy

    dirty

    crowded

    historic

    cheap transport

    unfriendliness

    expensive - ripoff prices

    river thames

    loads of train terminals

    parks

    red busses

  24. umm

i think of beauty wealth and style and fun

    but also

    scum and danger and poverty

because london is so big and has distinct segregation

    but you also see

like a posh museum with tramps sleeping nearby

    such a contrast

wealth and poverty side by side

  25. Another Filthy,Dirty City Where People Like to Pretend Their City is Different or Special but in reality it's Just like any other major city in the World.

  26. I think of bridges, seriously. The phrases used are great "Mind your head" when getting off the tour bus etc... Cool place - I'd go back and visit again, and if you plan right you can stay there cheap. We stayed at a decent hotel and had picnics all over the city only spending $300 + the hotel  Awesome deal

  27. Some parts are posh, and some parts are mental.

Selling Guns and Dealin drugs in some parts.

  28. I had a trip to London a couple of weeks ago.

I will probably get slated for this but I thought I was in the middle East.

Wow. Such a lot of foreigners.

Not that that is a bad thing.

    But I was surprised.

  29. I think it's dirty, overcrowded and full of rude people.

  30. London while having many great aspects, culture, arts, history and that. Is an open sewer.

  31. Thank god I dont live there!!!

I think I will stick to Manchester.

Its far to busy down there and I find that its all 100 miles an hour so I will stick to a little less hectic but equally magnificent city. Manchester.
