My AVG program instantly updates in my computer. right now i have a screen that says "Complete test". AVG is scanning all the documents in my computer. but 2 threats were found.

there are 2 documents. one says: "trojan horse downloader."

the other says "virus found exploit".

They are viruses but how do i get rid of them! I tried to right click it and nothing works! does AVG get rid of them automatically?

  1. I have the free version of AVG and you can set it to automatically put viruses into quarantine.  Once they are there you can view them and it should give you the option to delete them.  I think you can also set them to automatically delete viruses as well.  I am always leary of deleting viruses because when the virus gets deleted then sometimes necessary files are also deleted and you could end up crashing your whole system (I learned this the hard way a few years ago).  Usually if they are in quarantine it is fine to keep them there in my experience--but I am in no way an expert.  Hope this helps.  Have a good weekend!

  2. Hello,  If you have the latest version of AVG Anti-Virus than yes it locks it in a safe file so it will not harm your computer.

  3. Well Avg should delete those threats but it might not be able to do it!!

AVG can't get rid of all viruses!!

I would suggest you in the future to try another virus protection program like NOD32 and see if it works for you!!It's supposed to be better than AVG!!;)

  4. avg will take care of it.

  5. Any antiviAny antivirus soft cannot delete this kind of file, because virus is not deleting if it is currently running in your system process.

    You click start -> run

Type msconfig , in general tab select the selective startup.

Remove the selection of Load startup Item

And select Original BOOT.INI(if not selected)

After that you exit program without restart.

Create a new user account, restart your system and logon that new account.

Start viruses scan simultaneously (do not run any other process )

    Then remove virus

befour that see your AVG scaning settings

  6. Go to the Tools then Setup you AVG automatically

  7. AVG will automatically destroy them
