I fractured my wrist about 5 years ago.  It never completely healed.. I still have pain in it occasionally and it is much weaker since the fracture.  I had I guess what you would call a soft cast?  They made a mold of my thumb & halfway up my arm on the inside.  Then they put that on and wrapped it in an ace bandage.  I think I had to keep it on for about 4 weeks, I don't really remember.  I had to follow up with a doctor and have x-rays done to check on it.  I still have an uncomfortable feeling when I bend my wrist up and down.  Good luck!

i broke both of my wrists

and the first cast was on for about 3 months

and the second one only about 2 months

so it depends on the break and where it is, yada.

and you don't visit the doctor from the time they put it on till you get it off.
