  1. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26291109/

This is a good article. Most people's fears about vacciations are unfounded. I've done my own research and found that the benefits far outweigh the so-called risks.

  2. you know the results out weigh the risk

you need to talk to some doctors, not just one but a couple to add to your research instead of not listening to them and relying on the internet for information. and don't tell me you don't rely on the internet cause if you don't you wouldn't be here asking a bunch of strangers why they DON'T vaccinate. if you really were doing research you would ask why they DO OR DO NOT vaccinate, but all you are doing is looking for more excuses why not to vaccinate your child.

  3. Still not sure about the vaccination thing.

However, I hope you're kidding about chicken pox.  It has worse issues than itching.  The virus never leaves your body and can randomly erupt years later with breakouts of cold sores and/or shingles.  These later breakouts can be much worse than the original chicken pox.

  4. Good for you stand by your decision and Don't let anyone tell you different.

If you have a clean home, feed your children proper food and proper hygiene you won't have any problems.

We did not vaccinate our child due to personal beliefs and not wanting chemicals pushed into our infant.

Don't let any of these ignorant drones bully you into doing what you feel is wrong with your children

    Stand up for your rights.

48 of the 50 states allow you to be exempt for religious beliefs you just have to fill out a form before you enter your child into the system.

Also another note Good for you for home schooling. It is good to see parents out there who actually take the time to teach their children instead of pushing it off on a failing system.

  5. Make your own decision, but in light of your comment about measles, check out the article in today's New York Times -- http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/22/health...

It's true that people aren't dying in Illinois from measles right now, because the vast majority of people are vaccinated.  But the article points out that as more people are choosing not to vaccinate, rates of measles infections are going up.  And, per the NYT article:  "In the decade before the measles vaccination program began, each year nearly 4 million people in the United States were infected, 48,000 were hospitalized, 1,000 were chronically disabled and nearly 500 died."

edit -- here are some chickenpox statistics, as well.  it's certainly mild in most people -- but not in everyone.  http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/c/chickenp...

  6. Parents like you do deserve c**p Do you know how many children die from disease that can be prevented by this Jab ?

And i personally hope it doesn't happen to you but with so many infections lately then who knows then who will you blame then ..No one because its YOUR fault !

  7. I feel as though I will vaccinate my child because it protects them from many things

  8. I totally disagree with not vaccinating your kids.

Its not just chicken pox we are worried about, we're talking polio, mumps, and other diseases.

Also think of the risks involved with people with weak immune systems like AIDS victims and people on chemo?Disease is going to get worse than it already is.

and to those who say "it our child and our choice", then u are selfish because disease respects no one.  Do u really think if ur child gets sick , the disease is going to stay just with him??of course not, its going to change and may even get stronger and by the time u think"oh my I should have....", the original vaccine will not work.

    Marinate in that.

  9. what do you do when you choose not to vaccinate when the child enters school? I had to give my son's shot records for school.. I am just curious ?

    Thank you for answering..

  10. My husbands grandma started telling him about it and why not get them done, then we both looked up each vaccine on the net, and I have a subscription to MotheringMagazine and they had an article about it so I had more facts.

There are lots of site with info on them and such, my mom freaked out when I told her we weren't doing them but lied and said we changed our minds just so I wouldn't have to hear her complain about it.

Its our choice, no one else's. Our doctor didn't try to push them on us and is fine with her not having them.

If people give you carp tell them it's your child and you are doing what you think is best for them, end of story.

  11. For me, the decision not to vaccinate is a religious one. I don't believe in introducing foreign substances into a living body for the sake of prevention, especially when those substances can cause more problems than they're worth. If you do it for religious reasons, you can get an exemption for the public schools.

  12. We started out vaccinating our daughter because "it was the right thing to do". Since then, she has been on a slow, downward slope of developmental delays and is now showing early signs of autism. I never believed that vaccinations could be linked to autism. I thought it was something that the child was born with and it developed overtime. However, since my daughter was advanced from birth and now is slowly having delays, I have no choice but to believe otherwise.

As a result of the delays and early autism signs, we have stopped vaccinating her, and she is beginning to show some improvement. She has caught up developmentally, but she's also still behind. Things she should do at say, 12 months, she's not catching on to until closer to 16 or 17 months.

This is also the exact reason why we are not going to vaccinate our son. We have already filled out vaccination exemption forms for when we run into issues with school and sports registration. You don't legally have to vaccinate your child, despite what doctors and health units say.

If anyone wants a link to vaccination exemption forms, which you will need in case the school board threatens to expel your child, feel free to send me a message through Yahoo Answers, and I'll get you the link.
