  1. Well that all depends. If you actually NEED an suv no.But if you just want it to have it YES!really a 4runner isnt that bad unless you get the V8.a V6 SR5 2wd model isnt that bad on gas for the size! But add leather a sunroof and a good stereo they get pricey!they resell for a good price tho.I would also recomend a Acadia! But get the SLE an SLT AWD with leather and DVD will easily hit $40,000!

  2. The 4runner is a good car. Though it is a little outdated and overpriced for what it is, it is still a strong competitor in the off-road capable mid-size SUV Segment. Something that may be worth looking at that you can get a better price on would be the Nissan Pathfinder. The Pathfinder is a relatively capable midsize SUV that offers a 3rd row seat, leather interior, navigation system, and all the amenities the 4runner offers for a better price.

But, considering today's gas prices, buying a somewhat large SUV is not always the best decision. This is why I would look at a crossover vehicle (XUV.) A XUV is lower to the ground than an SUV, doesn't have the Minivan look, and usually has large wheels. They look really good. Plus, they usually return a good MPG compared to most SUV's.

Here are some XUV Options with their websites:

    GMC Acadia

Saturn Outlook (Essentially a GMC Acadia)

    Dodge Journey

    Hyundai Veracruz

    Ford Edge

    Nissan Murano

These are the best of the best in the $25,000-$35,000 Range. I highly recommend the GMC Acadia, and Nissan Murano.

    Good Luck

  3. the 4Runner is capable of true or real off roading but it gets very poor mpg even with its smooth V6 engine.

if you don't need that off road capability look at a smaller SUV

    Hyundai Santa Fe

    Ford Edge

don't expect gas to go down anytime soon or SUV's to be selling at much of a discount.
