I am just curious what other people think.

Is there a difference between pets and animals raised for food? Vegetarians what do you think? Animal lovers who eat meat what do you think?

  1. I love animals and eat meat.  I don't believe in hunting for sport but i do believe that people have the right to hunt for food if they should so choose.  Animals that are raised for food are not pets they are a food source.  I don't think they should be killed inhumanely or treated poorly however.

  2. Hmmmmmm.  Interesting thought.  I love trees but I write on paper.  Basically, we're all hypocrites to some degree.

  3. I don't see anything wrong with that. Animals that have been kept as pets are traditionally ones that weren't worth eating anyway, like dogs. A trained dog could in fact help in hunting larger game, thus removing any other incentive to eat it.

  4. I like meat but some times I wander also is it right to eat meat?? Then I think we need to eat meat because we get stuff we need like vitamins from meat if you don't eat it you have to get those vitamins from some were else like taken vitamins pills because of not eating meat..

I would be a vege eater but I like stake so no change I would be a Vegetarian!!!

Not real difference between pets and animals for food because in some countries they eat dogs.. My taewondo teacher eats dog when he use to live in Korea he says it's good!! Not shoure I would maybe if they gave me some and don't say what it is!!

I don't think it's wrong to eat meat we all have to eat to live even some plants eat meat have you hard of a Venus fly trap it eats meat!!! All animals eat meat tigers eat meat they would eat you if they can get you...

  5. I work with cattle farmers.  Those happy little cows looking at you from the side of their head with their big bright eyes, tails wagging, while the farmers walk around saying things like "Good marbling" and "Fine rib eye" etc.  And while I look at them thinking their just standing there thinking about the grass, they are really looking at us and seeing happy smiles on our faces like those big cheesy grins you see on adverts in womans magazines selling lipstick or toothpaste, that when you think about it don't really look attractive to cows or any other animal on earth, and if you look at them carefully long enough too, you will see they actually look like the nice steel teeth that poke out of "Alien's" mouth in the movie Alien,  and the cow sees these shiny teeth through smiling lips and they are not really thinking of the grass, they are scared out of their wits, which is why you often see animals relieving themself in the field, when they are not really that immodest, because they are modest and an animal would not pee in front of another.  Its more like the lady in the dunny when the Texas chain saw man started cutting through the door.  This is what the cow sees while we walk around patting it on the side.  And one day the space ship will arrive to take all the cows away, descendants of a race of cows that crashed on Earth thousands of years ago, finally saved.

But until then, the important thing is they tastes good.!

  9. So what's the difference between killing animals for food and killing plants for food? They're still living beings. Do we just not care about what we do to plants because they aren't soft and cuddly and we can't see ourselves in them?

It's a fact that in this world, Death nurtures and sustains Life. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that lives that does not depend on death for its existence. One can bemoan it or one can make peace with it.

I feel I am as one with plant life as with animal life, and so if I must eat to live, I might as well go with what comes naturally. I am comfortable with my predator nature.

  10. I love animals and I think there is nothing wrong with eating meat, that's why GOD put them here. As long as I don't know the animal then I think  its fine, its still ok to eat it I just wouldn't, I have some friends that raise cows and one of them died giving birth so they took the calf home and they bottle feed it and I got to do it too, so now that I know the cow and got to feed it, and every time you go to there house it comes running like a puppy to the car, I could say NO I will would not eat meat that IS GOING to come from this cow ( cause it will be butchered one day) when it gets to big. I wouldnt be able to eat this cow.

  11. yes, there is a difference..

i love my cat and would never eat her.

but i cant help what the chinese put in their chifa in Peru.. And i love it.. even if it is cat..

  12. You can have a pet and eat meat too. In fact many animals eat meat so why can't us as humans? With meat eaters vs. vegetarians, just agree to disagree. This topic is a lot like religion. We can respect e/o differences but continue eat how you want to. Good luck.

  13. I live in Louisiana and we have lots of Armidillas here. I just found out that this animal is a pure vegetarian. They only eat bugs out of the ground. This pure American Indian friend of mine told me this. You can cook and eat an Armidilla and it is not like eating meat. It is a pure non meat dish. Try it.
