  3. OH my gosh

don't go over board you just  moved into your new home you must be exhausted. relax

make a salad. and a lasagna.. 2 if you want 1 with meat and 1 without..

then make a simple dessert... Stawberry shortcake would be great for summer. add some blueberries to  for some extra color.

and it's summer don't serve soup... too hot.

    stick with simple..

If you have a large enough yard then BBQ... salads. chicken hamburgers and then the strawberry shortcake.

have fun and congrats on the new home.

  4. need more info g/f... like how many couples....is it just grown-ups....& what time did you tell them all to be there for dinner??

    thats important....how many what time-any kids...please elaborate

  5. Cook what you are familiar with and are good at, so you won't be trying something new and untested for the first time.  I like lasagne, with a regular green salad and garlic bread.

If you are going the whole formal dining scenario, then soup is first.  ("Soup's on!!)  I wouldn't, but that's up to you.  The more "informal" it is, the more relaxed everyone will be, and you can do things like let some eat off an unpacked box if necessary.  And, they will be in and out of the kitchen helping.  When you try to be ultra-formal, then they feel like they don't want to interfere with your routine or your schedule.

  6. i say fancy but easy.

start with appetizer like crab cakes over mixed baby greens

then make a nice strip steak entree with red roast potatoes and fresh green beans sauteed in garlic and olive oil

    have them bring dessert

  7. the betty answer is my pick,,,,,,,,and if you go with betty's idea can i come

  8. Ok simple is the way to go.  You just moved in, you might have all your stuff unpacked, but let's face it, you might need that potato ricer, or some other fancy kitchen tool and not remember where you put it.  Since its been hectic, your all moved in and entertaining already I would go with nice and easy.  BBQ some steaks, bake some potatoes in Olive Oil and sea salt, serve with sour cream and green onions or chives,  roast some corn on the cob (in the husks) or grill some asparagus.  Make it easy and good.  Enjoy yourself!

Oh here are some wonderful websites with recipes

    allrecipes.com

    foodnetwork.com

    recipegoldmine.com

    cooks.com

    epicurious.com

some of those sites even have ingredient searches where you can type in what you have on hand and they will pull up what you can make with the ingredients you listed!  Enjoy!

  9. I would just keep it simple and have a barbeque.
