  1. They have scent glands that stink but you can get them removed i think. They takes as much work as a dog or cat, people say that they are like a cat that only lives for 7 years. They are very fun and loving playful and u can take them on walks and its easy to stop them from biting by putting real apple juice not cider or welches on your fingers when playing, they think its bitter.

  2. They are very fun, but time consuming. It is impossible to watch them without at least smiling, more likely laughing your *** off. They're cuddly and needy, but not to the extent of a dog. More like having a puppy and a kitten combined. They need a lot of attention, a lot of time playing, but as long as you're in the room, they are happy to just explore.

The bad/hard part is that you have to ferret proof any room that your ferret will be loose in. No cupboard or table top is safe. And you stop them from getting into a place, they do everything possible to get into it.

If you're seriously considering getting a ferret, you should get ferret for dummies. Also go to this website http://www.ferretaid.org/caresheet.pdf. It's a care sheet. And if you go to ferretaid.org, you'll get alot of information.

    Good luck!!

  3. They are the best!! But living in CA. I don't really have one or even two that use a cat box and are the coolest things most loving little creatures that are well taken care of you just need to find a vet that does not care that your in a state the does not allow the public to own them (so stuipd) The just like kittens though into everything and I mean everything.

  4. They are extremely playful & curious.  They will do anything within their power to get into & explore anything around them (they got under my sink one time - it was a disaster!).  They also have a very strong smell.  We had to buy an air purifier just for them!  They also don't live very long, so when they die, it's kinda hard.  They are a lot of fun, and will make you laugh many many times, but a lot of trouble.  That's it in a nutshell.

  5. Ferret ownership is not something to take lightly. They demand a lot of attention, and need to be taken out for exercise daily. You must make sure you "ferret proof" your house, they can and will get into everything. You will be amazed at the places they can get themselves into. They are extremely curious. They love to play, and love to collect things. I own 7 ferrets, and each one has a different passion. One loves to collect plastic bags, one loves paper cups, ne loves hard dog squeaky toys, etc. Never leave them out of the cage unattended, they can and will get into trouble. With daily playtime, they will become your best friend. Usually when you get one, you will get another, as a playmate. They love to play with each other and will sleep together as well. I love all my ferrets, and can't imagine not having them. As soon as I walk into the door, they all lift their heads and want to come out and say hi.

The worst thing, in my opinion, is the cage cleaning. You must keeponn top of it on a daily basis. They go to the bathroom every few hours, so they can load up a litter box pretty quick.

But, once you are ready to take the responsibility, you will love them. They are a great pet, and will give you a lifetime of fun and love!
