  1. What helped my was reading about archers who use zen. total calmness and relaxation. you should be getting it much further than 100-150 with a driver.. with a good driving you dont eve have to put effort in.. u can just swing it like a pendulum and it'll ping it 200 yards... just go the driving range with , maybe 100 balls each time and each ball play it like you dont care.. no effort just making the right connection.. then youll improve.. thats how i did anyway :D

  2. Hitting 100-150 yards with the DRIVER?

That is naturally between 60 degree lob wedge(100-110yds)

    Gap Wedge(115-130yds)

    Pitching wedge(135-145yds)

    and 9 iron(150-165yds)

With the Driver, you should be hitting about 200~250 yards

If you have been taught by the teacher for 8 months, then you

Should be hitting about 250yds in sea level and 275yds above sea level.

    Hope it helped

  3. Every day you miss practice, it takes yo one day longer to be good.

  4. It really matters on how hard you work at it.  I have played for about three years and I am hitting the ball about 250 yards.  It took me over two years to do this and I was working at it everyday.  Golf is a very hard sport to play, so just keep working at it and it will come eventually.

  5. Hi Matt,

Assuming you are a physically sound male without serious medical limitations, you should be hitting the ball much farther and consistently than you describe.  You must take lessons, or you will never get much better.  To paraphrase an old expression, "he who has himself as a golf instructor, has a fool for a student".  Get to a decent public course.  Find a pro who is about your size, age and flexibility, and commit to taking lessons every couple of weeks for several months.  If this sounds like more commitment than you are willing to make, then accept the fact that you will never really be able to play the game.

Sorry, that sounds like a harsh answer.  There is nothing wrong with just whacking the ball around and enjoying being outside on a beautiful piece of manicured landscape.  But don't expect to get any better with that approach.

  6. My mum started for the first time about two years ago and now she has started winning golf competitions regularly.. just ones at her club but it's a big step .. I'd say practice actually hitting the ball alot, not just practicing your swing. Got a driving range near by? If so go down there hit some balls with all your different clubs and work on your swing and your stance. Good that your practicing putting but definately practice on your chipping and iron work aswell .. its a very important part of your game. Maybe if you can't get to a driving range buy some practice balls to use in your garden? They are much lighter and don't damage anything if you hit them. They don't give u a proper representation of how far your going to hit it but you can get the feel of doing your swing.

    Good luck :)

  7. if your under 10 then 150 yrd an't bad.hate to say this but it could be never.i've been playin for like 20 years and still suck 14 handicap.witch is way better than most golfers but compared to the pros. good luck keep it up

  8. 150 is my 8 iron and i'm 16 and 12 handicap

  9. Which club can you hit that far?  You must play on the course to have any idea of how good you are now and what you need to improve on.  You must know how far you hit each golf club for certain.

  10. Hi,

Practice makes perfect - however try spining your golf club shafts. By aligning your shafts you will see a marked difference in the length of your shots.

There are several places to get a spinefinder - I bought mine here - it was the best purchase I made to improve my game.

Hope this helps - good luck !

  11. You will never gain distance by just swinging in your garden..I am 15 ive been playing for 3 years and am already a 5 handicap...I gained distance by hittin on the range, swinging with a weighted club, and practically living on the course.  Give it time...It isnt all about distance, accuracy is more important..Remember distance comes with age

  12. well how ever much more time you perfect the skills the shorter of time it will take yo to be good, keep practicing!!

  13. 150 is pretty good, you have to make the most of your swing though, bring the club higher and let the down swing do the work, have more confidence that the club will make contact with the ball and you will see a progression. in around 3-6 months you should see a 50 yard increase.
