  1. It depends on what you are selling.  Having a store on Ebay does save you some money in listing fees, etc.  Read all the details on Ebay & you will see what the options are.

Make certain you know how much something will cost to ship because I miscalculated a lot & lost money.  Hard lesson learned!  :)

There are tons of people out there selling on Ebay all sorts of things.  You never know when someone is going to need what you have.  I always know if I need something, I can find it on there.  When I am short on money, I will search through my things & see what I can live w/out & sell it.  Doing buy it nows is one way to speed up your auctions.  What also helps is to be quick on shipping.   Because I work full time, I usually only ship once a week, so I list this information on my auctions so bidders know that if they want their item faster, they need to let me know.  Ebay can be fun & a great way to make extra money.  Just see how it goes for you & have fun w/ it.

  2. Timeline  Collectibles! This is a good business1 I buy coca cola memorabilia myself!

  3. i sell a bunch of stuff on ebay but have never opened a shop  longer than 1 month.  about a year ago ebay was giving month trials of shops away so i opened one and it didnt help selling anything so i closed it.  I still sold all the products that i had for sale but when i compared from just an ebay account from an ebay store the numbers were the same so i just decided to save money and just sell each item individually in stead of continueing the store.

Ebay now has "veiw other items buy this seller" tabs on each page so when i would sell something i would say in the auction "be sure to check out my other items" and people did.  so if you have 1000's of items to sell open a ebay store but if you only have a few things here and there like me just open a regular account.

  4. It is worth it if you know how to price your things. You must be flexible as well. If a product doesn't sell right away, lower the price (or raise it in some rare cases) and change the category. Wait for the right season. By pricing right, I mean that you should offer the best / lowest price in order to compete well. It makes all the difference: price points.

  5. It can be as opening a shop on Ebay is very cheap to do (about £6pm the last time I did it), so if you are selling a few items regularly it can be very useful, or you can do it just for the fun of running a 'virtual' shop.
