People who speak romanian... Please help?

Question

Some romanian person said hello translates as "banae" (how its pronounced) but I do not know what it means? I think she is lying and it does not mean "good". Please help? x

It might be "bună" , which means "hello" ,

or "bine" which means "good"

"bine" can be used when someone ask you "ce faci?" ("how are you"or "what are you doing?")

Andreea, did you learn romanian language in russia? Explain where from did you get "buna" from "banae". It's not even a typo, "a" is far away from "u"... so, shut up and don't write dumb thoughts!

Banae it might be "ba nae", sort of "yo, country boy"... or "yo, dumbo"... so I'd suggest that if you don't know a foreign language, just don't believe whatever they say... copy the word and paste it into google translator... 95% chances to get a good translation, unless that word it's a bad one...

Banae is actually Buna.

Buna means good as "o fata buna" (a good girl) but it can also be hello. When I go to Romania and I say buna they're alright with it so I guess it's not wrong.

Buna is like a shortened way of saying "buna seara" (good evening) or "buna ziua" (good morning or good day).

Salut, servus and salve are also greetings that i've heard.

Do you know the Italian"Buona sera"?

we say "Buna seara"

the Spanish "Buen dia"..... the Romanian "Buna ziua"

so, Buna = Good  and if you add some part of the day = salute!

Buna is a sort of abbreviation for the whole "Buna ziua" or "Buna seara"

we say just "Buna"...pronounced: "Boo- nah!"

I would translate "Hello" with "Salut"

"Salve"...yes, this is another form, coming directly from the latin language, the roman salute!
