People who surf...?

Question

i have some questions...

my dad and i are looking for some surfboards and i'm not quite sure what's best for a somewhat beginner.

my friend said get a longboard.. but there are so many different types! i'm really lost.

help?

i'm 5'3" if that helps at all.

Go to a reputable surf shop.  Boards are sized for your height & weight, they can tell you what size you need.  

A long board is what most people learn on - it's bigger surface area makes it easier to balance on.  Take some lessons, or go to surf camp... you'll have fun!
