What are the age requirements [only if it's 18+] and any benefits you get. Also, anything else you'd like to add [pay, what you have todo to call out, etc], I would love to know...thanks!

  1. I've worked at all three. I'm currently at JCP.

Macy's: I believe the minimum age is 16. I worked in receiving where the age limit was 18, and also, I'm not at all familiar with floor procedures due to my position. Benefits: you get paid every single Friday! I don't remember about benefits as far as health, 401k, unfortunately. I started at $8.25 with no former retail experience. The minimum wage here is also $7.95, however. Also, every single thing you sell is on commission - HUGE bonus. Unfortunately, there are many things to beware of this company as far as ethics. They have a hotline to call when you need to call out; you just leave a message.

JCP: Minimum age is 16. Health insurance, vacation time, 90day raises, evaluation raises yearly, work very well around your schedule. Paid bi-weekly. I started at $8.50 with former retail experience. To call out, you call the store and let a manager know.

Sears: Please, please don't even bother. They pay minimum wage no matter if you've had retail experience or not. I know people who have been there 30 years and have NEVER had a raise. Very, very unethical, sneaky, downright horrible company to work for. Minimum age is 16. To call out, you call and let a manager on duty know.
