People who work with abused children?!?

I want to study to become one of these, however I dont know what they are called or how to get started, how long does the training usually take, and is there any classes online that I can take? My time is sparse, but i have online access, that would be great for me?

(people who followup on child neglect cases.

  1. Social Worker. It took my mom 6 years of full time college and 1 year of interning.

    The turn over rate is high due to the stress and the huge case load.

  3. This is called a Social Worker and it is not something you can do in your spare time. In order to be a social worker, you would need to go to college to get an undergraduate degree. Once you have finished, you would then need to go to a Graduate School of Social Work. Once you have done that, you could then apply to work for Child Protective Services.

    However, if you are not interested in going to college, what you could do is become a child advocate. This is a volunteer role and you work with children who have been taken away from their parents for all sorts of reasons.
