People with camcorders.. without firewire ports on your laptop, how do you upload vids.. is there a way?

I have a camcorder... it's fairly nice. It takes those small tapes. I can view it on the tv if i plug it up, but the only way to view it on the computer is on a desktop with an installed firewire port which i don't have access to right now.. so what do you guys suggest i do? is there any way to record it from the tv to the comp or the tv to a disk?? i'd just like to be able to upload the video footage onto my laptop computer, but it doesn't have a firewire port:/

You can add a firewire card to your laptop - they're cheap, readily available and easy to install.  You'll need to find out whether your laptop uses PCMCIA or Express cards - they're not interchangeable!
