I am 25 yr old woman. Married for 2 yrs now .I have been diagnosed woth Hypertension last year. My BP is always 150 / 180. Every morning I get a headache after I wake up, I have a stiff neck and shoulder pain. My mom told me that they are BP symptoms.

Now here's the thing....last month I did not take my medicines...and I was completely fine....i mean no headaches, stiff neck etc...everything was good.

Wat does this mean??? Do I have BP or not??? ANother thing....we hv been trying to make a baby...but no positive results till now.....was wondering whether I have PCOS and may be my BP is because of that..wat shud i do???

Eagerly waiting for suggestions.

  1. I have Pcos and no blood pressure problems at all. I don't think the two are related. You need to speak to your Doctor concerning your meds and symptoms, maybe it is a reaction to the drugs not the BP thing at all. Plus a DOc wouldn't usually prescribe anything unless medically necessary.

  2. Hypertension is not linked to PCOS.  Do you ovulate and have normal regular periods?

If you have hypertension (especially that high), you should buy a blood pressure monitor for home and monitor it daily (you can get it for like $30).  The 150 / 180 sound much much too high (especially 180). Has the doctor done a thorough testing to figure out potential causes and remedies for hypertension? for example, do you have any thyroid issue?  Are  you taking Vitamin D for example?

BTW, hypertension and pregnancy can also be complicated (BP usually goes up during pregnancy, and can go up quite high with certain conditions).  You really should be talking to specialists for answers.

    Good luck.
