People with opposite-s*x best friends....?

What characteristics and qualities do you like in them that make them your best friend?

And why are they of the opposite s*x? like why don't you choose to have a best friend of the same s*x instead?

theres someone i can talk to about boys and have things about them actually explained so i understand and hes the same with me. we can hang out and it not be weird. its good to hang out wit someone who can chilll. sometimes i get tired of hanging out with girls cuz we always have the same probs and talk bout the same things and blah blah blah blah blah......anyway ive known him my whole life and weve gone thru phases togethr. its cool cuz were like sibs and we wrestle like sibs do but its never awkward cuz its like wrestling with my younger bro. i like having him as a bff.

It has nothing to do with the gender in my case.

I just met him one day, we help each other with problems, just have fun sitting there and doing nothing.

I also don't love him, which is always good.

We like to hang out, play games together, watch movies, go out to eat. We like the same music, going to concerts, we have a fe of the same hobbies, we watch movies and tons more. I didn't choose him as my best friend it just happened over time.

LOL.  This is the craziest question.  My best friend is a guy because of who he is.  I like him because he is blunt, he doesn't spend hours talking about his "feelings" or his butt.  Instead we trade funny jokes and have fun.  He is also never grossed out by the things I can say, which is nice.  I didn't pick him because he was a guy and I didn't pick a girl because I can't find one I truly relate to.  Believe me, it has nothing to do with the s*x.  It's all on the inside.  My husband understands and has no insecurities about it either.

I have a boy-friend that i've known for 9 years. We can talk about anything! It's different with girls. When I'm with my girlfriends, you talk about everything, too. With a guy you can talk about everything and more. I don't know how to explain it. When you're as close to each other as I am with my friend, you can talk about your girly things and he can talk about his guy things and everything is okay. I love a guy friend who doesn't necessarily have the same interests as me, but knows how to listen to me and I can get along with him. I have to know he won't betray me. That's something you can't get with girls. Girls are all evil. Some more than others. There is one problem... after a while you might get a little too fond of your 'friend'.

Well I'm a guy, but having a best friend or two as a girl better suits me because many times girls have the characteristic of just being nice to guys.  Many times girls with girls can be very mouthy and they pick on each other all the time.  Guys on the other hand will sometimes talk about s*x, drugs, girls, and cars.   I'm not really that interested in non of the topics but maybe the girl part a little bit.

you really don't plan on whose going to be a best friend, and I don't judge my friends by gender, but a best friend of mine whose a girl is a good friend because she's nice, I can talk to her about anything, she's hilarious, even when she's not trying, and is just plain awesome xD

i am a guy and my best friend is a girl and her bf is my friend and my gf is her friend. its not that big of a deal like we no were just friends and they no were just friends, but b4 they new that we went to the movies once and it kind of freaked them out a little lol. but she is my best friend becuase it is so easy to talk to her about amyhitng, mostly things that u cant talk to guys about or things that thye would make fun of u for she is just like a sister to me and nothin more and my gf nos that and it dosent bother her b/c there real good friends to and me and my gf talk about it and me and my friend (that is a boy) talk about how me and his gf are friends and it dosent bother him either......i hope that helps

My best friend used to be a girl,but eventually she turned out to be a real b****,so we broke up our so called best-friendship & now we are just friends.But once we broke up i thought to myself that i was never going to have another best friend again,cuz it wasn't worth all the hassles & i was fine alone too,with just friends.But then he enrolled at our school...............& i'll tell you this,he was a whole lot of trouble at first.....he was a kind of bully & he used to pick on me a lot & made me feel all miserable...............but then it turned out that the only reason he picked on just me ,was because he liked me...............and as the years went by,he became nicer and we became friends..............and now we are the best of friends & i can't imagine life without him........sometimes now,we look back on all those times he used to tease me & make me cry..and we actually laugh about it!You see,i so obviously didn't choose him to be my best friend...,it just sort of happened!!

And as for the qualities that i like about him...well,his humor for one thing..he is soooooooo funny,i love the way he can make me laugh or smile when i'm in the grouchiest of moods..........and he's always kind to me now,very helpful and totally honest with me...always......oh!& i love his silly antics too,i know that most girls feel embarassed when their guy friends start acting silly,but not me....i love the way he's always trying to entertain me with his stupid jokes and silly behaviour.............

I'm too serious all the time,too professional.........i can't help it  .......so having a best friend like this is perfect for me!!!!!!!!
