Can you please recommend good contact lenses for strong astigmatism?

Three years ago I tried several contact lenses and they still were very blurry. I had no choice but to continue with glasses.

Is there anything new in the market for strong astigmatism (I just have it in one eye)?

Please let me know if you are happy with your lenses so I can talk to my doctor about it.

Appreciate your advice. Thanks!

  1. I only have astigmatism in my left eye.  I use Purevision toric.  I am not sure what your prescription or what you consider to be a strong astigmatism prescription.  I have read that mine is in the moderate range. (PL -1.25 x60)

I am really happy with this lens and it corrects up to 2.25 diopters of astigmatism.

  2. ermm..

  3. I use Purevision toric lenses. I like them; they're comfortable.

  4. Toric contacts work fairly well, but no contact lens will correct as well as spectacles do.

  5. Toric lenses like purevision toric soflens toric and o2 optix toric does provide to higher asti user. do check with the optical shop

  6. There is the Frequency XR that goes up to a 5.75 cylinder, and has proven to be a very stable lens. I have used it a few times in the 4.50 range, and it has worked very well.

That doesn't mean it will work for you , but it is something they could try on you with a trial lens.

It all depends on how strong your astigmatism really is because it only starts at 2.75
