Hi, we just recently moved to Glendale and Heritage Elementary School is are area school. Unfortunately my 5th grader is in Special ED (all day class) and it seems they don't have a class for him. Which other GOOD school has 4/5th special day class? I want to keep all 3 kids together. Thanks!

  1. Try asking the school if there are any schools which have special ed facilities nearby, if not ask your state education department what the closest special ed facility is to your area.

Sorry that's all I can come up with.

What exactly are the facilities for special ed at this school? Is there a partial day special ed class where the students are in mainstream classes for the rest of the day or are the special ed kids integrated straight into the mainstream classes.

It may be an idea to reconsider whether an all day class is still the most appropriate setting for your child or whether he may be able to cope with whatever setup they have at this school for speial ed students.

  2. most districts will be required to find you a school that can accommodate your children if they do not have what you need, and if they are your area school.  how can  a publivc school not offer special education classes?  you might want to talk to someone in the education department of your state...i actually think that's illegal.  unless of course by "they don't have a class for him" you mean they have special ed, but the classes are all full.  chek it out!
