Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola, has stated that he is expecting a fascinating final in the Copa del Rey as his team is poised to lock horns with Athletic Bilbao.
The Spanish tactician appeared excited at the prospect of his side playing another Copa del Rey final and predicted that the final of the coveted tournament will be a ‘beautiful’ match.
Guardiola’s team, Barcelona, hosted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 on Wednesday night in the return leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final.
To the joy of La Blaugrana faithful, the Catalans were able to defeat Los Che with a final score of 2-0; hence, cementing their place in the final of the tournament.
It was a fairly entertaining match; however, Barcelona’s dominance over Valencia was quite clear. The Spanish Giants played magnificently and really took the game to Unai Emery’s men who were evidently incapable of resisting the Catalan onslaught.
While talking about the game, Josep Guardiola explained how it is an honour for his side to qualify for another Copa del Rey final.
While addressing the press, Guardiola was quoted as saying:
“We're happy to have another final saved away. It's a final with the teams that have the most titles in the competition. In Valencia we played an extraordinary game, and (last night) we did it again. We generated a lot of football, with an almost infinite
amount of plays. It's a great achievement. It says a lot about the players. They did what they had to do."
On the other hand, Athletic Bilbao crushed Mirandes with an aggregate score of 8-3 and they will now face the current UEFA Champions League title holders in the final.
While discussing the final against Athletic Bilbao, the Spanish mentor stated:
"I believe it will be fascinating, because I haven't seen a team that plays into space like Athletic. They will come for us, and we'll do the same. It'll be a beautiful final for spectators that will give prestige to the competition. We're very excited
to play against Athletic.”
The venue for the final is yet to be decided as organizers are having trouble deciding which stadium to choose. At the moment, Mestella, Nou Camp, Santiago Bernabeu and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramon-c30533 Sanchez Pizjuan are all tipped to host the tournament’s final.
