Real Betis coach, Pepe Mel, has warned his players not to get carried away and be complacent after their win over Getafe on Monday
Betis got a deserving 4-2 victory against Getafe on Monday. Their tally of points so far this season has gone to 19. This number of points took them to the 4th spot in the table standings.
Mel has come out and said his team can relax a bit but that they can’t get carried away and take things for granted.
The coach believes his team were the worthy winners of the night and conceded that it is always difficult to score four goals against Getafe.
“The first half was more tactical, more equal, but in the second we have broken with the goal for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-Molina-c19195. We have deserved to win, because to put four goals past Getafe is significant.”
The 49-year-old has said the 19 points his team has at the moment will give them a peace of mind but regardless reminded everyone that this time last year they had just accumulated 12 points.
“The best thing now is to have won the 19 points that gives us peace of mind to keep working, because last year at this point we were on 12 points.”
The tactician has warned his players not be overconfident and think that they are good. He said that whenever they think they are good they always end up losing.
“If we think we are good and should win, we will lose.”
Los Beticos boss also shared his thoughts on Benat and his goal. Although the boss appreciated the 25-year-old’s goal against Getafe, he feels the midfielder can contribute more to the club.
“Benat’s goal was good today, but otherwise he has not been well. For this team he can give more of himself.”
