Real Madrid’s Pepe has expressed that playing in the Spanish La Liga is not all that easy for Portuguese players. He opined that the players hailing from his homeland face more pressure than the others and are constantly faced
with controversies.
The Madrid number 3 asserted that the problems faced by his compatriots and himself have a massive effect on the way they play. In addition, he voiced that the controversy brought upon him has even forced him to consider hanging
his boots.

The athlete revealed that the incident had affected him quite adversely and he was immensely disturbed due to it. He even stated that the incident had forced him into giving up the beautiful game altogether.
The defender went on to claim that it was the same incident that established his reputation as an overly physical footballer. Although the reputation is based on facts, Pepe denies the fact that he plays an extensively physical
brand of the sport.
