http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 FC goalkeeper, Pepe Reina, claimed that he is happy at his current club and is looking forward to be a part of the side from next season
Reina has been heavily linked with a move to FC http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the summer transfer window. The player has been touted as a replacement for departing keeper, Victor Valdes, who is set to leave the club for a new
challenge at the end of the season.
He claimed that he has had a great time at Anfield in the last three years and is extremely happy at the club. The goalkeeper admitted that his family is satisfied with the life in Liverpool and the player is
eager to help the club in the upcoming season.
On the other hand, Reina admitted that it is flattering for him as a club like Barcelona is looking for him. He stated that he has no knowledge whether the Spanish giants have been in contact with Liverpool or
not but stated that he has no plans to leave.
“I have three more years with Liverpool. I'm satisfied, comfortable and my family are very happy. Rumours are difficult to control but it's flattering when a club like Barca are interested in you. I don't know
if there has been contact between the clubs or with my agent. At the moment I don't think there's anything serious,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Villarreal man added that he had a great time at the youth academy at Barcelona. He stated that playing about 50 games for Barcelona under the age of 20 taught him a lot and helped him grow as a player.
“I played more than 50 games, when I was less than 20, it helped me grow a lot. I would've liked to have played there more, of course, but there's no need to over-dramatise things,” he concluded.
Pepe Reina has made 285 league appearances for Liverpool since his move from Villarreal in 2005. The player has won a FA Cup, League Cup, FA Community Shield and a UEFA Super Cup during his time at Merseyside.
