“Pepe is not for sale”, says Hodgson
The 63-year-old boss of the Liverpool football club Roy Hodgson has conveyed a message to the Manchester United football club’s management that Liverpool’s Spanish veteran goalkeeper Pepe Reina is not to be acquired.
According to some news reported it is reported that the Manchester United football club’s manager Sir Alex Ferguson is connected with the 28-year-old Spaniard. On the other hand, it is also to be notified that the Arsenal football club’s manager Arsene Wenger
is also interested in acquiring Pepe Reina. The Arsenal team has already mentioned its interest in acquiring the Spaniard.
In a very recent interview the Liverpool boss, Roy Hodgson expressed his thoughts about the matter in a very blunt way. Hodgson said that it is not possible at all to sell Pepe at the stage and no one can snatch the Spaniard from the Liverpool team. He added
that he is very well aware of the other team’s interest in buying Pepe but he will just say one thing that currently Pepe Reina is not for sale.
Roy Hodgson seemed to be very angry with Alex Ferguson as he is well aware of the fact that Ferguson is willing to acquire Pepe for the Manchester United football club. While talking about the matter the 63-year-old said that he knows that Alex Ferguson
wants to buy Pepe Reina but he should know that the Liverpool is not at all interested in selling its veteran goalkeeper.
The capacity and capability of the 28-year-old Spaniard cannot be questioned as he is considered as one of the best goalkeepers of the world. While talking about the fact, the former Fulham manager said that Pepe is the best goalkeeper in English Premier
League football teams and everybody around is very well aware of the fact and this is why teams like the Man. United and Arsenal are willing to buy him. He continued and said that Liverpool is not willing to sell him as he is the backbone of the team and assets
like Pepe Reina are hard to find.
Reina joined the team Liverpool in 2005 for a huge amount of six million pounds and so far has played in two hundred and seventy one matches for the Liverpool team. He had extended his contract with his team but currently he seems not very happy with the
performance and outcome of the Liverpool team and that is why the news about his being linked with the Arsenal team as well as with the Manchester United football team have broken out.
The current season has not been a lucky one for the Liverpool football club and the players of the club seem very unhappy with the fact. The issue of ownership of the club has also created a lot of mental stress for the player and this is probably the only
reason that the key players of the Liverpool squad are eyeing to change their fate by switching to other football clubs.
