Real Madrid defender, Pepe, has expressed his apprehension at how the press and the media have portrayed him recently.
The Portuguese international has appeared quite concerned at the way his image has developed in the news and tabloids.
The 28-year-old was made the target of a great deal of ridicule after he was accused of allegedly stamping Lionel Messi’s hand when Barcelona and Real Madrid came face-to-face in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals last month.
Despite being one of the most competitive contests in the world of football, El Clasico always carries the chance of being a disappointment in terms of fights erupting every time the two Spanish Giants meet.
Real Madrid players have been accused of playing over-physical football on several occasions, whereas the Spanish Champions have often been accused for diving.
With players of both the parties always ending up in a fight during the game, most of the fans leave the stadium majorly disappointed.  It is almost unfortunate to observe two juggernauts of the beautiful game play like children in a contest that holds great
traditional history.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 is among the players who have been greatly accused for their physical style-of-play and aggressive behaviour. The player has specifically received blame for being too callous against Barcelona.
However, the defender has attempted to play down all such accusations stating that the media portrays him as a murderer.
"The press has portrayed me like I am a murderer. For me the most important thing is to defend the colours of Madrid though. When I go out on the streets, plenty of people still show that they like me."
Pepe’s teammate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096, is also one of the players who have been indicted of excessive foul-play. However, there is still hope that such occurrences will decline as footballers all around the world attempt to make way for quality game-play instead
of rowdiness.
