Per Mertesacker rules himself out of moving to Arsenal and commits to Werder Bremen
It seems like Arsenal’s hunt of landing a defender have taken a toll for the worst, as one of the players who was being linked with the team has now pulled out of the deal.
Werder Bremen defender and German international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Per-Mertesacker-c29680 has gone on to admit that he is more than happy at the club and is not to keen on moving away just yet.
These words have come at theoretically the worst time for the Gunners, mainly because they are looking to make some signings before the end of the season, with their defence being the one department that needs reinforcements.
Arsenal went on to lose by two goals to nil this past Saturday and seemed to be falling short in the defensive department.
On the other hand, Bremen has been doing rather well, with Mertesacker performing brilliantly for the team.
The defender, when talking about his future and his ambitions is quoted to have said:"My plan is stay in Bremen"

"If you look at the [media] coverage it goes back and forth. No one really knows what is going on. But I know exactly, so I will stay in Bremen."
With Mertesacker making it clear that he has no desire to leave the team, it is now up to Arsenal, to make an offer for the defender, which makes Bremen sell him.
At the same time, this might be an indication for the Gunners to go ahead and make a move for other players, who are far more experienced in the Premier League.
The team has been linked with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439.  However, it appeared as though the Gunners were holding out to find a cheaper alternative. Now with The German international appearing to no longer be in the equation, the Gunners can turn their attention back to the three seasoned Premier League players.
At the moment, most experts have identified Cahill to be the ideal player to come into http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and help the team progress. However, despite that fact, Arsenal seem to have their mind set on making a move for Jagielka instead.
Nonetheless, with all the teams involved realizing that the Gunners are now in desperate need to sign a defender, they have skyrocketed their asking price for their players.
However, should Arsenal not be able to reach a feasible conclusion and price to landing a player, it seems more than likely for the team to not make any signings before the end of the transfer window.
