http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Per-Mertesacker-c29680 wants to help Arsenal go all the way – Premier League Update
One of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s primary setbacks for the last couple of seasons has been their defence. The team’s lack of experience and height at the back has often caused them to suffer defeats, which they could easily avoid.
In order to overcome this minor error, the Gunners have gone on to land German international Per Mertesacker from Werder Bremen. The defender has gone on to pen a four year contract at the club and a fee around the region of eight million pounds is rumoured
to be the price that the club had to pay.
Following his move to the club, the player has gone on to reveal that he has always been a fan of the North London club.
The player, when talking about his attachment to the club is quoted to have said: "There is this emotional connection to Arsenal, since my youth, when I walked around in an Arsenal shirt"
"The circle closes now. I think I will finally realise it, after the first training or when I walk out for the first time into the stadium.
"I’m very happy that the request came. I didn’t think it would.
"When I was young I visited my aunt in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. As a football maniac you always brought back a shirt of course and I took the Arsenal kit. My brother took one of Manchester United.”
Mertesacker’s move to the club was completed on the last day of the transfer window, but it showed that there was a definite change in the policies that the Gunners have adopted over the years.
The Gunners are now looking to bring in experience and are also trying to overcome any and all flaws that existed in their squad.
With the addition of Mertesacker, the Gunners now have a number of world class defenders amongst their ranks and this is going to benefit the club tremendously over the course of the coming years.
It is now a wait to see just how Arsenal’s new number 4 performs once he takes to the field in a week.
