  1. $23,714.00

  2. Is there a trick to this ques ? Must you count the month or something?

    Maybe i'm thinking too much

  3. 23,500. The question is telling you that 26,085 is 100% of his salary + the 11%, so it's 111%. Sooo, one way you can solve it is by figuring out how much is 1% of his salary. Take 26,085 / 111 = 235. 235 is 1% of his salary so 235 * 100 = 23,500, that's 100%, That's what he is making now without his 11% raise.

  4. 11% raise means that his salary of 26 085 is 111%.

    jeremys salary now

    = 100/111 x 26, 085

    = 23, 500

  5. 1 year = 52 weeks

    how many times jeremy needs 52/3 = 14

    let a be the salary of jeremy right now

    so a + a* 11% = b salary after  first 3 weeks

          b + b*11% = c salary after  second 3 weeks

    .........then go on to 14th 3 weeks

    you will find a with 26,085 at the end of 14th 3 weeks

  6. Think of it this way:

    current salary x 1.11 = future salary.

    I got the "1.11" because his future salary is 111% of his current salary.

    This is what they mean by an 11% raise: current salary (100%) plus the raise (11%).

    So, current salary = future salary / 1.11

    current salary = 26,085 / 1.11 = 23,500

  7. 26,085 is 111% of x

    26,085      111

    ---------------------

       x            100

    111x=2,608,500

    x=2,608,500/111

    x=23,500

  8. 23500

  9. .11x26,085=2,869  26,085-2,869 = 23,216   this is what he makes now...I havnt done math in a while.

  10. He is earning $23,215.65

    (26,085)(.11)=2,869.35 <---11% of 26,085

    26,085-2,869.35=$23,215.65

    EDIT:  Mine is wrong...miscalculation...

    Jessica's completely right
