My insurance pays 80% of my bill (surgery) I pay the other 20%. The portion that I pay is $750, how much is the total bill?

  1. Depends.  Is that $750 a deductible?  

    Or is this just a math homework question?  If it's math homework, and you have no deductible, it's 750 divided by .2 to set the problem up.


  2. The total bill is $3,750 (basic math)

    20% is 1/5 of 100%. So 750 times 5 = 3,750

    Another way to do the math is 750 divided by 20% = 3,750
