Perennial and Cavaleiro aim to emerge victorious from the Casco Cocked Hat Stakes at Goodwood
In order to make to the Investec Derby at Epsom, Cavaleiro and Perennial will have to bring their best to the Casco Cocked Hat Stakes, which is scheduled to take place at Goodwood on 25th May, 2012.

The runners will race with all their might to qualify, and be considered for the mega-event due to take place on 2nd
June, 2012.
Perennial, who is currently under the training of Charles Hills, seems to be in good form. The son of Motivator, out of mare Arum Lily, started his racing career on 8th September, 2011, and sealed it with an impressive victory.
Paired with rider, Michael Hills, he gained pace towards the end and finished half-length ahead of the Mahmood Al Zarooni trained, Encke, in the Crownhotel-bawtry.com EBF "Green Desert" Maiden Stakes at Doncaster.
The three-year-old finished as a runner-up in the start that followed, when he missed the victory by 1 ¾ lengths to, Rockinante, in the Group 3 Autumn Stakes at Newmarket in October, 2011.
The chestnut colt failed to impress in his seasonal debut, as he finished sixth but his trainer looks hopeful as he said:
"Perennial is a likely runner at Goodwood on Friday. We have been happy with him since Newmarket, when he didn't run his race. He was too keen in the Feilden Stakes and the ground was a little bit loose on top, so it wasn't his true running."
Hills explained that the runner has been performing well in his work-outs, and the 1 mile and 3 furlong race will be easy for him to tackle.
Cavaleiro, who is trained by Marcus Tregoning for owner, Guy Brook, finished third in his seasonal debut, a performance his trainer was really pleased with as he said:
"I thought that he ran really, really well at Lingfield as he was possibly a little short of work going into the race. He has come out of that run really well and I think that he will come on a ton. He certainly looks in good form and my horses are
running very well at the moment."
The son of Sir Percy , out of mare Khibraat, was mounted by rider Richard Mullen and despite their best efforts, finish 6 ¾ lengths after the winner, Main Sequence, in the Betfred Derby Trial Stakes at Lingfield.
