No, I think Perez is just a fan of Paris and decided to use her last name. Either that or its just a joke considering Perez and Paris are close sounding names.

Hey.. haha no they are not. Perez Hilton isn't even a real name. The very eccentric guy who uses it is actually Mario Lsomething, and made it up as a catchy name so people would remember him easier and talk about him. He became "famous" for writing celebrity blogs and has since gotten into other entertainment/media related ventures.
