The Spaniard has made an attempt to rate Los Blancos over the English giants, claiming that they are worth more than the Red Devils.
Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, took out time to address the side’s board of directors, hailing the Spanish champions as the most valued football team in the world.
He added that Los Blancos have overtaken English Premier League giants, Manchester United, in terms of worth.
Perez is convinced that if the Spanish giants were put up on stock exchange, they would make more money than the 19-time English champions.
“If we ran into the stock exchange, we would worth more than Manchester United, I can assure that," the Spaniard claimed.
According to Forbes magazine, the Old Trafford outfit are worth $ 2.24 billion and are the most expensive football club at the moment. The Reds are followed by Los Vikingos as the most expensive club and The Whites are worth $ 1.88 billion.
However, Perez has argued that United are not worth more than the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.
Continuing the discussion, the supremo also talked about the way elections are carried out at the Spanish capital. He voiced his support for the proposed changes and asserted that the current methods are more fuitile.
“In 2009 I came back because of a situation that I do not like to remember,” he said. “Here, someone says to vote by show of hands is not democratic. Sorry, but what is more democratic What is not democratic is to sneak electors who are not [worthy]. We
must protect the club. We are many.”
“Some people are willing to cheat. With a club like Madrid - which boasts an image of fair play - what kind of image do we offer when some members do not participate?”
