Florentino Perez has looked back on the calendar year of 2012 and talked about what it has meant for him and Real Madrid

It was a year of mixed emotions for Real Madrid. Despite failing to win the UEFA Champions League, Jose Mourinho's men managed to win the Supercopa de Espana and the Primera Division after four years.
When asked about what he remembers the most from this year, Perez stated that he was happy with what his club has managed to achieve. He also gave his thoughts on the financial stability of Madrid.
“The best thing this year has been the sporting successes, in both football and basketball, but also the financial and institutional stability of the club.”
The man at the helm of Madrid also acknowledge the role that the supporters of the club have played in their success. He appreciates how the Blancos faithful always strive for the unity of the club,
“This has been possible thanks to the support and togetherness of the Real Madrid supporters, which are the most important things this club has.”
The Spanish administrator then turned his attention on the Christmas and said that it is time to spend with family, friends and loved ones.
Moreover, the 65-year-old also added that for him it is a time to reflect because of the passing of his beloved wife.
Since so many people are facing hardships due to the difficult economic conditions that exist in the country, the Real president believes it is also the time to think about those in need.
“Christmas has always been a time to cherish because we spend it with friends and family. It is also a time to reflect because of the passing of my wife and a time to think about those who are experiencing a hard time since we
are all aware that the current situation it not easy at all.”
Perez is fully aware that Real Madrid are unlikely to retain their La Liga title this season.
They are currently on the 3rd position in the table standings and are 16 points behind League leaders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604. However, he is hoping to win Europe’s most prestigious competition, the Champions League.
