Perfect Fantasy, a leading entry for the Skysports.Com Racing Classified Stakes at Kempton
Kempton will become home for the Class 5 Skysports.Com Racing Classified Stakes over seven furlongs on Wednesday, 9th May. Contesting for the £2,264 purse is a line-up of twelve runners. Majority of the candidates have already raced at the venue and some have been successful too.
The only entry who has won at Kempton and that too during the new season is Perfect Fantasy, Oratorio’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Petite Fantasy. Trained by Clive Cox, the three-year-old was the 9/4 winner of the 32Red Casino Median Auction Maiden Stakes over six furlongs on 1st March.
Riding with John Fahy, Perfect Fantasy led the runner up of the race, Heartsong, by a mere neck’s difference. Settling third behind the winner was El McGlynn.
She is going to race her second start of the season today and that too at the same race course which adds to her already strong chances of winning.
Another highly lightly raced race entry is Slewtoo, Three Valleys’ three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Red Slew. Her debut season was 2011 and ever since then there is only a single race entry on her profile as she started racing in December.
Slewtoo won the Betdaq Multiples Median Auction Maiden Fillies’ Stakes on 21st December at Kempton over seven furlongs.
Under training Marco Botti and paired up with Adam Kirby for the race, Slewtoo had to try very hard for bagging the race as the reeling in runner up, By Invitation, was only at a neck’s difference.
Finishing the race third was the 5/2 favourite, Boudoir.
After a break of four months, the three-year-old will race the seasonal debut and will race at Kempton for a second time through her career.
Another entry to have raced during the new season at Kempton is Toffee Tart but there was nothing very impressive about her performance. She ended sixth in the Interactive Handicap on 18th April over six furlongs. The winner of the race was the 2/1 joint favourite, Dark Castle.
Quite a few entries on the line-up are racing their seasonal debuts and among them leading with the strongest credentials is Slewtoo.
It will be difficult for her to threaten Perfect Fantasy but it all depends on how the two race today.
